വിമാനത്തിൽ നിന്ന് താഴെ വീഴുമ്പോഴും,
അവർ വെറുതെ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു:
"ഈ വീഴുന്നതെങ്കിലും,
അൽപം,
ഒരൽപം, മനുഷ്യത്വമുള്ള മണ്ണിലായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ!"

ഉള്ളതു പോരാ
എന്നൊരു തോന്നൽ
ജനിച്ചതു പോരാ
വളർന്നതു പോരാ
നിറവും കാന്തിയും പോരാ
വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം പോരാ
വരുമാനം പോരാ
വൈദേശിക ഭ്രമത്താൽ തകർന്നൊരിന്ത്യയെ
വൈദേശികരാൽ അടിമയായൊരിന്ത്യയെ
കരകയറ്റുവാൻ ഉദിച്ചുയർന്നൊരു സൂര്യൻ
കത്തി ജ്വലിച്ചു, ജ്വാലയായ്, തേജസ്സായി പടർന്ന സൂര്യൻ

ബാല്യത്തിലെപ്പോഴോ മഴ പെയ്ത പകലിലായ്.
അച്ഛനൊരു കടലാസ് തോണിയുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.
ആശ്ചര്യത്തോടെ ഞാൻ കണ്ണ് മിഴിക്കവെ.
മഴ തോർന്ന മുറ്റത്ത് തോണിയിറക്കുന്നു.
