പെരുമഴ തോര്‍ന്നിപ്പോള്‍ ഉത്തുംഗമാം
ഗോവര്‍ദ്ധനം തിളങ്ങി
ഉലയിലുരുകും കനകവര്‍ണ്ണകാന്തിയോടെ
അകലെയെങ്ങു നിന്നോ വീശും
കാറ്റിന്നലകളിലൊഴുകിയെത്തുന്നു
ഒരു നേര്‍ത്ത മൂരളീരവം

ഉദാലസയായൊരു പ്രഭാതം
ഉറങ്ങുന്നൊരീ പുലരിയിൽ
ഉറക്കം ഉണരാതെ കിടക്കയിൽ
നിക്ഷലമായി നിൽക്കുന്നു
വൃക്ഷലതാതികൾ കാവലായ്
പ്രഭാതത്തിനെ ഉണർത്താതെ
സ്വപ്നങ്ങളെല്ലാം വെറുതെ,
മോഹങ്ങളും വെറുതെ
പകലുകൾ വെറുതെ,
രാവുകൾ വെറുതെ
നിഴലും, നിലാവും വെറുതെ
എല്ലാമെല്ലാം വെറുതെയെന്ന തോന്നൽ...
